What The Process Looks Like
Grillz Crafting: It’s Not a Race, It’s a Masterpiece
We know you’re excited to get your bling on, but crafting custom grillz is like fine wine—it takes time to get it just right. Once we’ve got your correct dental impression, we dive into the magical world of grill-making, and since each one is handmade (not machine-punched), it’s a process that takes about 3 weeks.
Now, before you start counting down the days, here's the deal: sometimes life happens, workloads pile up, and grills need a little extra TLC. We’re here to keep you in the loop every step of the way, but rushing us is like trying to fast-forward a great movie—you miss out on the best parts!
So, we humbly ask for your patience as we work our magic. After all, we’d rather deliver something that makes you say "WOW" than rush it and get an "eh." Trust us—great things take time, and we promise it’ll be worth the wait!
Thanks for hangin' in there while we put the sparkle in your smile.
Here's a step-by-step guide to our order process:
Once you’ve found your desired product and placed your order, we get started right away! This is one of the main reasons we don’t offer refunds—because we immediately begin preparing the materials needed to craft your Protective Mouth Grill.
After placing your order, you’ll receive a confirmation link, taking you to JotForm to verify your selection and upload a photo of your smile, if necessary. (immediate) We're waiting for you to complete this step before moving forward, so please do so as soon as possible.
Next, we’ll ship your impression kit to you. Even if you haven’t confirmed your order yet, we’ll send the kit promptly since this step takes time to complete. (2 business days + 3-5 business days shipping route given no delays)
While we’re confirming your order with our jeweler, it’s your turn to make your dental impression at home. The kit comes with materials and instructions to guide you. Once your impression is ready, you’ll upload it to another JotForm for us to verify. If everything looks good, we’ll send you an email confirming that you can ship your impression back to our jeweler using the provided return label. (this should be done within 30 days to avoid disruption.)
If your impression isn’t accepted, we’ll let you know. Although we don’t send replacement kits, you’re welcome to use another molding kit from a different provider or order another from us. Our priority is getting a high-quality dental impression to craft the perfect piece for you. (this is circumstantial)
After your dental impression arrives at our jeweler, they begin their process, which is beyond our control. While we aim for a three-week turnaround, delays can occur, so we ask for your patience. During this time, there may be limited updates, but rest assured, both we and our jewelers are working hard. You can also check your order status on our website. (3 weeks given no delays)
Here is the jewelers process and a look at why it is a longer process. Please keep in mind that other orders may be in front of yours.
First, they check everything over carefully. Once your order is in, they make sure your mold – the one that’s shaped exactly like your teeth – is ready to go. It gets sprayed with a special cleaning spray to make sure there’s nothing on it that could mess things up, and they let it sit until it’s completely dry.
Then, they get it ready for the lab. Once it’s clean and checked, they add a label with your style choice and carefully place it in a little plastic bag with that label on it. Now, it’s ready to be picked up by the lab, where all the magic happens.
At the lab, a technician gets to work. The technician takes your mold and pours a special material into it, creating a stone model of your teeth. This stone model is like an exact copy of your teeth! They clean it up and make sure every detail is perfect.
Next, the stone model goes digital. They scan it into a computer to make a digital version of your teeth, and the designer starts working on it, creating a 3D model of the final mouthpiece. This is where they can start adding designs, like those cool cuts or dustings you requested.
After that, they print the model and start casting. They print your 3D model in a wax that melts easily. This wax model goes on a “tree,” where it’s baked overnight. Then, they pour in the melted silver or gold, forming the actual metal version of your mouthpiece.
Finally, it’s time for details and polishing. They cut each piece off the tree, carefully inspect it for any tiny flaws, and make sure it has all the right designs. After that, they polish it up to make it shine and look as good as possible.
Once it’s ready, they ship to us! They double-check everything, take quality pictures, and pack it up, so it’s ready to send our way, looking perfect and just like you imagined.
That's a lot, ain't it?
Once your grill is finished and arrives at our lab, we’re able to send updates and inform you of the next steps. The final email will notify you when your grill reaches our lab for the protective layer application. If you need to update your shipping address, please attempt to do so here. (protection takes 2-3 business days)
Once the protective layer is applied, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information to follow your order to its destination.
