Here’s What You Need to Know Before Getting Your PMG
Welcome to the world of grillz! If this is your first time, here’s a full breakdown to help you understand exactly what you’re getting into — and how to get the best possible experience with your PMG (Protective Mouth Grill). Trust us, it’s better to know now than be surprised later.
TIMEFRAMES & POSSIBLE DELAYS
-
Standard turnaround time: 3–6 weeks once we receive your dental impression.
-
If you need a refit: Please note, refits go back into the production line and are treated like new pieces. That means the same timeline applies.
-
We do not rush remakes — it’s important your piece is done right.
FITTING IS EVERYTHING
-
Every mouth is different, and metal doesn't fit like plastic. It won’t “snap” like a retainer. It gently hugs the teeth.
-
Instructions are provided to help with your fit. If it feels off at first — don’t panic. Try the instructions.
-
Still not right? No problem. We’ll help you with a refit, but again — that takes time and patience.
UNDERSTAND METAL QUALITY
This is a luxury product. You get what you pay for.
-
Low-quality metal = low-quality experience. Don’t expect perfection if you choose the cheapest option.
-
Silver 925 is the most affordable but also the hardest and most prone to tarnish.
-
Gold plating looks great but can scratch, smudge, or wear off over time.
-
Solid gold (especially 24kt) is your best bet for a longer-lasting piece. It doesn’t tarnish and stays beautiful longer.
REAL TALK ON PLATING
-
Plating is a surface layer — it’s not forever.
-
If you wear your grillz while eating, brushing against utensils, using abrasive products, or even just from regular handling — you may notice fading or scratches.
-
That’s not a defect. That’s just how plating works.
COMMON FIRST-TIMER QUESTIONS
Q: Will my grill feel weird at first?
A: Yes. It’s metal on your teeth. That’s normal. You’ll get used to it within a few wears.
Q: My grill doesn’t feel like it “snaps” into place.
A: It’s not supposed to. It should sit snugly and comfortably — not click like Invisalign.
Q: My grill feels tight or slightly off.
A: That’s why we give fitting instructions. Try them. If it still feels off, reach out for a refit.
Q: Can I eat with it?
A: Nope. Never eat with your grill in. It will damage the piece and your real teeth.
Q: Can I return it if I don’t like it?
A: Custom pieces are final sale. We don’t do refunds, but we will work with you on fit issues.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PMG
-
Remove when eating or drinking anything other than water.
-
Store in the case it came with.
-
Gently clean with a soft cloth after wearing.
-
Do not use harsh cleaners, toothpaste, or brushes.
FINAL WORDS
Grillz are a statement piece, not a medical device or permanent dental work. They’re fun, flashy, and fly — but they come with responsibilities. If you're patient and follow the process, you’ll walk away with something that looks amazing and feels right.
